This training course is designed around procedures to ensure SARs are properly reviewed and vetted to the appropriate law enforcement officials. These procedures promote the integrity of submitted information; protecting citizens’ privacy, civil rights and liberties; and successfully implementing the SAR process. Involves identifying behaviors that could be associated with pre-incident terrorism planning and the process for sharing terrorism-related SARs nationwide. NIEM Compliance

The purpose of this session is to provide information in regards to the National Information Exchange Model. NIEM is a partnership between the U.S. Dept. of Justice and U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security to develop, disseminate and support enterprise-wide information exchange standards and process that allow jurisdictions to effectively share critical information (day-to-day and emergency situation information) nationwide. This class provides practical implementation strategies for data exchanges and methodologies using NIEM. The standardization of the components produces an increase in interoperability from data exchanges among a variety of information systems.
